I Won't Be Buying a New Barrel Saddle After All...

I had my vet come out on Saturday to take some x-rays of Mercy's legs. She wasn't lame, but she does have some funky conformation in her front legs. They were just to have as a "baseline," should anything go wrong in the future with reining and gaming injuries. The vet, myself, and the guy from Emerald Downs met at my barn at 1pm. The guy from ED has digital x-ray equipment, and since I has having multiple joints done, I wanted the best images I could get.
.
I am going to get right to the point with this post, because I am still devastated by the very unexpected findings: Mercy has bone spurs and cartilage damage in most of her joints. At 7 years old.
.
Of course some are worse than others and although she is not lame, she must be treated like she is an arthritic horse.
.
When I get the x-rays loaded onto my computer, I will right a more lengthy post. But I just can't right now.
.
I hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July!
;)
